UTA has hired publishing agent Pilar Queen, The Hollywood Reporter has exclusively learned.
She has spent the past 10 years at McCormick Literary, where her best-selling clients included Brad Stone, Emily Chang, Cristina Alger, Grant Achatz, Andy Kessler, Steven Davidoff, John Hope Bryant, Nancy Lublin, Debi Mazar and Simone de la Rue.
Queen will work out of UTA’s New York office, where the 18-year-plus literary industry vet is expected to sign authors and help the agency’s existing clients create and leverage original content across divisions and platforms. Recent highlights for UTA’s publishing group include Chelsea Handler’s Life Will Be the Death of Me, Stassi Schroeder’s Next Level Basic and Kristin Hensley and Jen Smedley’s #IMOMSOHARD, all becoming New York Times best-sellers.
Brian Kilmeade, Guy Raz, How Stuff Works and American Public Media are among the clients expected to publish work over the coming year.
