Walt Disney Studios has become the third largest film production company in the world after acquiring Marvel Entertainment in 2009, LucasFilm in 2012, and all of 21st Century Fox film units in 2018. Last year alone, Walt Disney Studios released just 13 films and took in 33.48% of all box office revenue for the entire year, nearly $4 billion dollars.
Their popularity has grown tremendously and this has led to a huge following of cinema fans who are anxiously awaiting what else they are going to do. The Disney rumor mill has been stacked with rumors surrounding live-action remakes, sequels, and stories that have yet to be told.

20 Rumored: 1906
Brad Bird is the brilliant mind behind such films as The Incredibles, Ratatouille, and Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol. But there is also a rumored project about the San Francisco earthquake in 1906 that would be his second live-action Disney film after Tomorrowland.
However, the script is still being worked on which might always be the case. This is a film that will be rumored for a long time, but will likely never get made.
19 Confirmed: Indiana Jones 5 (July 9th, 2021)
At 77 years old, Harrison Ford is attempting to do something no one expected. He is going to bring back Indiana Jones for a fifth time. That's right, Harrison Ford is going to bring back the archaeology professor one more time, just 12 years after he looked way too old for the fourth film, we want to add.
18 Rumored: Disenchanted
After becoming the surprise hit of 2007, Enchanted created a path for future sequels to follow. The story was not finished but evil was defeated. So, for many years now, a sequel has been rumored with an apparent script already written. They are just waiting to get the green light and that is the biggest hurdle they might not get past.
17 Confirmed: Captain Marvel 2
Brie Larson was not considered a good choice to play Captain Marvel when Disney first made the announcement in 2016. However, the Academy Award winning actress was able to earn the respect of the fans and has become a fan favorite. Naturally, it was only a matter of time before they announced a sequel.
16 Rumored: Hercules
Since Disney has become obsessed with turning all of our favorite childhood animated films into live-action remakes, it comes as no surprise that Hercules has landed on the rumor mill over the last couple of years. Although it is not confirmed, this film is going to happen sooner or later, mark our words.
15 Confirmed: Snow White
If a live-action Hercules remake is not something you care to see, how about Disney's OG Princess, Snow White?

14 Rumored: Deadpool 3
Ryan Reynolds can do no wrong. He is such a likable guy that even his worst movies are still pretty amazing. But Deadpool is simply on another level. He was the perfect fit for the role and after giving fans two films, the thirst has grown and we want one more.
13 Confirmed: Thor 4 (November 5th, 2021)
The Marvel Cinematic Universe is now in its next phase of films and Thor: Love and Thunder is going to be the final installment of the Phase 4. It will be a sequel to all the other Thor films and Avengers: Endgame. So we will get to see life after the final Avengers film. Oh, and we finally get to see Natalie Portman as Mighty Thor.
12 Rumored: Genies
Even the Genie from Disney's Aladdin has been rumored to be the star of an upcoming live-action film. Back in 2015, Disney began developing Genies, and even had a script written. It was supposed to be a lead-in for the live-action Aladdin film but failed to get done. So it is now something we can wish for in the future.
11 Confirmed: Peter Pan (October 8th, 2021)
Of course Disney is going to attempt to do yet another live-action version of Peter Pan– every other major studio has tried by telling their own version of his story. But even as popular as Peter Pan is among fans, the creation of a live-action film was not confirmed until recently and we will finally see it in 2021.
10 Rumored: Aladdin 2
Guy Ritchie used to be married to Madonna. He used to direct films like Snatch, Revolver, Sherlock Holmes, and The Man from U.N.C.L.E. Yet, he decided to sign with Disney and direct the live-action remake of Aladdin and ended up doing an amazing job. 7 Confirmed: Cruella (May 28th, 2021)
Emma Stone is turning into the next great actress in Hollywood. She won the 2017 Oscar for Best Actress and was also nominated two other times. 6 Rumored: Pirates Of The Caribbean Reboot
Johnny Depp might return for a Pirates of the Caribbean reboot, which is currently being written by Craig Mazin and Ted Elliott. Ted wrote the first four films and by bringing him back, this reboot is all but confirmed at this point. But can it work without Captain Jack Sparrow?
5 Confirmed: Black Panther 2 (May 6th, 2022)
After Marvel failed to announce Black Panther 2 during the unveiling of its Phase 4 lineup at Comic-Con last year, they eventually decided to please the fans by announcing it a month later at Disney's D23. It was given a release date with a cast of returning stars that should make it the biggest film of 2022.
4 Rumored: Labyrinth 2
Labyrinth originally came out in 1986 and immediately turned into a cult classic that has grown over the years thanks to a very large fan base. Knowing the audience is there, and since film reboots and sequels are a trend today, Fede Alvarez and Jay Basu got together and wrote a script. But that is about as far as it goes for now. Everyone wants to make sure the sequel is going to be worth it.
3 Confirmed: Star Wars Project (December 16th, 2022)
When Game of Thrones finally ended last year, fans wondered what the show's creators, David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, were going to do next. They ended up signing on with LucasFilm to be the creators of the next Star Wars film.
Sadly, however, they left the project and have been replaced with the director being named soon. Since it is Star Wars, there is simply no way it will fail.
2 Rumored: The Haunted Mansion
For the hardcore Disney World fans, the Haunted Mansion is the greatest attraction of all time. Although Disney did make it into a film, starring Eddie Murphy, the movie failed to do the ride justice and was a bomb. So fans have been hoping for another attempt for years now and there could be something cooking on the horizon.
1 Confirmed: Avatar Series (2021 - 2027)
For many years, Avatar has been a confirmed film series that Disney was planning on releasing over the course of a few years. After many delays and rumors that they would never get made, Disney finally announced last year the dates of each of the next four Avatar films, dating all the way to 2027.
