Mike Gelman (born August 4, 1961) is the executive producer of the television show Live! with Kelly and Michael (formerly known as Live! with Regis and Kathie Lee, Live! with Regis and Kathie Lee, Live! with Regis and Kelly, and Live! with Kelly). He also serves as the executive producer of the show Live! with Regis and Kelly. He also appears in minor parts on television from time to time, most recently in two episodes of Kelly Ripa’s ABC comedy Hope and Faith (2001-2002). Gelman was raised in the Chicago neighbourhood of Highland Park, Illinois, and attended the University of Illinois. While pursuing a degree in broadcast production management at the University of Colorado School of Journalism, Gelman worked as a cameraman, field producer, and editor for the United States Ski Association, covering pre-Olympic trials all across the nation. It was during the summer of his junior year at WABC-TV in New York that Gelman gained the most valuable experience. WABC-TV is the station that produces the show Live! with Kelly and Michael. Chris Kattan and Rachel Dratch have both mocked Gelman, who is a flamboyant, ambiguously homosexual figure, on The Dana Carvey Show and on Saturday Night Live, where he is played by Stephen Colbert. In 2000, he tied the knot with Laurie Hibberd, a Canadian television personality who was born in the United States. Jamie and Misha, their two daughters, are the couple’s only children.
